Spanish Contests
***NEW Rules for 2022***

All high school students enrolled in a Spanish course are encouraged to submit.
First and Second Year Students:
Please create a Spanish skit for two people, make a video, and and upload to Youtube or Vimeo. Submit the link in the message field of the contest form.
Third and Fourth Year Students:
Please create a Spanish skit for two people, make a video, and and upload to Youtube or Vimeo. Submit the link in the message field of the contest form.
Guidelines:
  • The skit should include two students role playing a scene with equal speaking parts.
  • The topic is open and should reflect what the students are learning in their classes.  (Possible skits are ordering food in a restaurant, purchasing clothing or other items at a market or store, completing household chores, making plans for an activity, etc.)
  • Length should be 2-4 minutes.
Entries will be kept anonymous and evaluated by Spanish and/or (bilingual) English faculty. The judges will look for the following:
  • The skits will be graded for creative use of Spanish, appropriate to the level of the learners (beginning or intermediate.)
  • It is understood that students are not able to speak with the same level of accuracy and fluency as in their native language, so originality and inventiveness in speech will be valued more than accuracy.
NOTE: THE USE OF TRANSLATION TOOLS IS HIGHLY DISCOURAGED
Deadline for Submissions: February 23, 2022
Each first place winner will receive a $100 gift card, and each winner will receive a certificate.
